Summer temperatures make it incredibly easy to dre Summer temperatures make it incredibly easy to dread getting dressed for the workday, especially when you are trying to look professional without completely melting. Walking from your car to a meeting shouldn't leave you feeling uncomfortable before the day even really starts.

A while back, I shared a breakdown of the specific fabrics that make all the difference when the weather warms up. Making intentional fabric choices allows your clothes to actually work for you instead of trapping the heat. Choosing breathable options like linen, cotton poplin, or Tencel keeps you comfortable throughout the day. Moving away from an all-black wardrobe toward shades like navy, olive, or ivory also completely changes your comfort level.

Looking put-together doesn't mean sacrificing comfort. You can read the full guide on how to strategically choose and pair your summer fabrics on the blog.

If you were to peek into my closet right now, you If you were to peek into my closet right now, you would see a very specific row of hangers right at the front. My morning routine always starts exactly the same way, with a fresh cup of coffee and walking my dog while the sun comes up. Because that is how my day begins, I prefer to keep the process completely effortless.

To make things easy, I keep a dedicated section in my wardrobe just for my comfortable dog walking clothes. Having a set outfit ready to go means I can get dressed and head right out the door without a second thought.

Being very intentional about setting up your closet to match your actual daily habits makes a massive difference in how your day starts. Moving a few hangers around to separate your casual play clothes from your office attire takes the friction right out of your morning, leaving you with more energy for the moments that matter.

It is often the most subtle changes that make the It is often the most subtle changes that make the biggest difference in how we feel. As we move into a new season, there is a natural desire to clear out the clutter and simplify our daily lives. Instead of looking for a massive overhaul, the most effective shifts are often the smallest, most practical ones.

Being very intentional about these small shifts allows us to build a foundation of ease. When we refine the details of our routine, we are not just checking things off a list. We are creating a space where we can breathe and move with more confidence.

Focusing on these small improvements is a practical way to move into a new season with more clarity and ease.

Wedding season is coming fast, and while we all kn Wedding season is coming fast, and while we all know the rule about avoiding white, there is much more to consider when choosing your look. Being a respectful guest is about understanding the tone, the setting, and the theme of the day.

I have seen how a single wardrobe choice can become a distraction when it does not align with the environment. Whether it is a color that clashes with the palette or a style that feels too dramatic for the venue, our clothing choices are part of the larger story the couple is trying to tell.

When you dress for a wedding, the goal is to look polished and sophisticated without pulling focus. Being very intentional about your choices shows respect for your hosts and the occasion.

I am sharing more on how to navigate wedding guest etiquette and color choices in my latest newsletter. You can find the link in my bio to read the full update.

One of the best parts of attending the conference One of the best parts of attending the conference in Dallas was the sense of camaraderie during our team t-shirt day. While we were there to dive deep into the latest wellness and skincare innovations, having a day dedicated to a more casual look made the whole experience feel so approachable. It was the perfect way to celebrate our team spirit while staying focused on our professional goals.

There is a real art to styling a team t-shirt in a way that still feels like you. Whether you choose to pair it with a favorite blazer or some meaningful jewelry, being very intentional about those small additions allows your personality to shine through. It proves that you can be part of a larger movement and still maintain the expert and polished presence you have worked so hard to build.

Looking back on our time together, these coordinated wardrobe moments are always the ones that stick with me. They represent the balance of professional growth and the genuine connections we make along the way. It is a joy to be part of a community that values both.

Personal style is not static. It evolves alongside Personal style is not static. It evolves alongside the roles and responsibilities we carry. What served us well in a previous season might not resonate with the person we have become today, and that is a perfectly natural part of the journey toward being very intentional with our image.

The way we choose to present ourselves often acts as a bridge between who we were and where we are going. It is a shift away from external expectations toward a clearer understanding of what actually works for you now. When we allow our wardrobe to change alongside our goals and our lifestyle, we remove the friction of trying to fit into an old version of ourselves.

Many of us have woken up to those lines etched int Many of us have woken up to those lines etched into our skin after a night of rest. While they often fade by morning, the way we sleep can have a long-term impact on our skin. Since we have been discussing sleep routines and fresh linens, it is worth looking at how our physical position during those hours affects us.

These small details often influence how prepared and focused we feel the next day. When you sleep on your side or stomach, the continuous pressure against a pillow can cause the skin to crease. Over time, this repetitive movement can lead to fine lines. One way to navigate this is by choosing a silk pillowcase. These reduce friction and allow your skin to glide smoothly throughout the night rather than catching on the fabric.

A consistent evening skincare routine also plays a significant role in how your skin recovers. Using a hydrating serum or a nourishing night cream helps maintain elasticity and ensures your skin is well-supported while you rest.

You can revisit the blog linked below for more details on pillowcase features and tips to refine your pre-bedtime routine for a more refreshed morning.

When your routine supports your rest, it becomes much easier to show up with clarity and confidence.

My sister gifted me a sunglass case that holds twe My sister gifted me a sunglass case that holds twelve pairs, and I have to laugh because she has officially outed my collection. If you were to look by my back door, you would see the entire leather box full and ready to go. While it might look like a bit of an obsession, I think of it as a well-rounded sunglass wardrobe.

When it comes to picking the right pair, I usually go for the combo platter approach. Some of my glasses are classically styled and specifically chosen because they work perfectly with my coloring and my face shape. Then there are the others that are just pure fun. I might have picked them up as a souvenir or simply loved the bright red frames. Even if they are technically a bit too big for my face, I do not mind wearing them on the beach because they carry a memory and a great sense of personality.

I have learned over the years that even the most fun accessories have their practical limits. For instance, when you are reaching for a sun hat, you might want to pull back on the size of your frames. Oversized styles have a habit of bumping against the brim, which can be quite a nuisance while you are trying to relax.

Choosing your eyewear is such a simple way to be very intentional about your style while still leaving room for a little playfulness. It is all about what makes you feel fascinating and fabulous in the moment.

We spend a significant portion of our lives in our We spend a significant portion of our lives in our beds, and the quality of our linens can truly impact how well we rest. Looking back at some of our past conversations about home care, I am reminded of how a few simple habits can shift the entire energy of a bedroom.

The way we maintain our environment often mirrors how prepared we feel stepping into the day. Keeping your sheets in excellent condition starts with a gentle wash cycle. Using cold water helps maintain the longevity of the fabric and keeps the colors looking vibrant. It is a small choice that preserves the quality of your linens over time, which is especially important for the pieces you love.

When it comes to the dryer, using low heat makes a world of difference. High temperatures can roughen the fibers and cause unnecessary wear, so taking a little extra time ensures your bed remains a soft and inviting place to retreat.

As we move into these warmer months, it is the perfect time to give your room a refreshed feel. You can revisit the blog linked below for more tips on how to keep your bed fresh and your linens in great shape.

How we care for our home is a reflection of how we care for ourselves. These small pockets of order make it easier to start the day with clarity and focus.

Deborah Day Fawaz

CEO of DDFaces

Deborah loves humor, food, family and the beach! She also loves being around other women, and is passionate about encouraging them to embrace their natural beauty—becoming more confident and comfortable.

She has always been interested in hair, makeup and fashion. As a teenager, her mother took her to a local beauty salon for a makeup lesson her 16th birthday, to ensure that she looked her best and knew what she was doing. From there, her interest in all things beauty and image expanded. She watched every TV show she could about makeup, took classes at the local mall, junior college and generally, studied and practiced on herself. When friends and family would admire her look, she offered to teach them how to duplicate it. Soon, friends and neighbors were hiring her for special events, weddings, and private lessons.

After teaching in the public school system for 34 years, she retired to follow her passion and created DDFaces. Although makeup is her first love, she advises others about color selection for clothing, hair and makeup, does professional makeup for head shots, events, speakers and private industry. She enjoys teaching workshops about color, specific makeup techniques and helping others craft their overall image.

She and her husband, Dan, have 5 adult children and now reside in Flowery Branch, Georgia, where they share their home with their 12 year old Maltese, Roxy.
